Megathrust quake risk in the pacific northwest ?

I am thinking of going to college in Washington state but I hear that they are at risk for a megathrust quake like the one that happened in japan. I have anxiety about that sort of stuff but I really want to go to school there. Is it still worth living there or is the risk too big?
