Where was George W. Bush when the liberals supposedly took over?

Why are the Republicans calling him a "dem/liberal" now when they didn't call him that 4 or 8 years ago? And why would a Republican/Conservative vote for a "lib" or a "dem"? Does that make sense? I don't see it. It just looks like an excuse to use when the guy that you held so dear screws up everything, and didn't do what you expected him to do. So in this case they disown him as one of theirs. It's funny really lol.
