Can cocaine not affect some people?

I did two and a half lines (not right after each other, i did half of one another one after the first didn't work, and then another one after that didn't work) and i didn't really feel anything. Nothing became numb, my heart rate might have went up but i was a little tense in anticipation. I have never done it before and got a little bit and decided to try. I did get the mucus running down my throat and there was a terrible taste. My nostril got really runny and bled a little bit after the last time. I'm starting to think that the person I got it from either gave me terrible coke, or maybe ripped me off and gave me baking soda or something. It went up pretty smooth though.
